The house is lovely and comfortable. It is also very clean.

Hans Marensky estate is currently under construction. The units rely on their own sources for electricity, so a generator runs 24/7. As a result, it may not be peaceful for a braai or a good night's sleep. However, we were not greatly bothered as we mainly needed a bed and were out most of the time. It can be misleading though. Once the electricity is sorted and the hotel is fully operational again, it will be the best place to stay. But for now, it can be a huge disappointment. Peace of heaven in the bush.

You have the most amazing house in the bush. Had such a lovely stay. Saw hippos, monitor lizards, muscaljaat cat and so many fireflies at night. Such an amazing experience. Already contemplating when we can go again, was way too short. Thanks!

Ons was verskriklik bly met die ligging van Hippo Haven asook hoe mooi die huis ingerig was. Lodge is stunning, location beautiful.

We were very impressed with the lodge, it is beautiful. The estate, however, was not what we had hoped for. The restaurants were closed most of the time, service was average, there was no tennis courts or squash courts.
