Words alone cannot explain the experience that we had during our visit. Thank you, Martiana and Jannie, for sharing your piece of paradise with us. My husband, King Tony, truly lived up to his nickname as we felt like royalty. The guest house is filled with fascinating pieces that they have collected over the years. I'm an early bird, and when I opened our balcony door, I was greeted by a colorful array of birds having breakfast by the pond stairs. The ducks gracefully dived into the water, swimming along without a care in the world. And let's not forget the adorable ducklings that made their appearance when they thought we weren't looking. The sunrise over the mountains in the morning is breathtaking, and when the light hits the stained glass by the front door, the formal lounge lights up in a beautiful red glow. The weather over the weekend was a bit moody, but in my opinion, it was perfect as it enhanced the feeling of being somewhere in Europe. You would never think that this incredible experience is just around the corner. We had dinner every night at Martiana and Jannie's home. On arrival, our table was set up in front of the fireplace, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Martiana is a talented cook, and the portions were generous and full of flavor. Tony, with his sweet tooth, thoroughly enjoyed the desserts. We had breakfast every morning, and let's just say that you won't need lunch afterwards. Jannie told us about the river on the property where we could use their kayak. Sadly, we ran out of time, but we did have the opportunity to walk down to the river and experience the tranquility that he mentioned. Thank you once again for everything!
