Description

Drakensberg Mountain Retreat is a stunning destination situated high on a ridge overlooking the Drakensberg and the Maluti Mountains. Situated on a 12km scenic gravel road, off the R74 running past the Sterkfontein Dam, this travel destination offers guests an adventurous, off-the-beaten-track experience where peace and relaxation are of the essence.

The accommodation comprises a lodge with nine en-suite rooms sleeping 24 guests. There are four upstairs rooms with magnificent views overlooking the Drakensberg Mountains, and five downstairs rooms with access to conservatory gardens or closed in sun porches. Rates include breakfast and dinner, and guests have the option of requesting lunch at an additional cost.

The lodge offers a fully stocked bar with a billiard table, multiple lounge and sitting areas, a dining room and an enclosed veranda that has panoramic views of the Central and Northern Drakensberg. There is also an indoor play room for children, an outdoor jungle gym and expansive lawns for children and pets to run free.

Drakensberg Mountain Retreat offers the perfect base from which individuals, families or groups can experience the grandeur of the mighty Northern Drakensberg. Guests have access to an indoor pool and conservatory gardens, perfect for rainy summer days and chilly winter weather, and can enjoy scenic hikes around the property and to historical monuments only 2km away.

With views overlooking the Tugela Falls and UNESCO Royal Natal National Park and Amphitheatre, Drakensberg Mountain Retreat, is the perfect base for guests to enjoy these world renowned hikes in these areas.
