The quintessential Karoo farm stay, couldn't ask for more!

Greeted at our car by the consummate hostess and shown to our room, then shown the fully kitted communal kitchen, with the basics (salt, pepper, etc.), as well as meat, wine, ice, and wood available for purchase. Stunning reservoir pool to cool off after the long scorching drive through the Karoo. Great stop-over to and from Cape Town to Pretoria. Only downside was mosquitoes at night; a fan or a mosquito net would be my only suggestion.

Lovely staff, clean, sadly zero ventilation in room #4, pool very disappointing.

Very friendly staff, nice and clean, lovely breakfast but please avoid room 4! No fans in the room, the light bathroom switch is in the passage outside of the room, bathroom window opens into the scullery area so no privacy when staff is on duty or to help cool the room, and around 05:00 when staff get to work, no way to block sound 'cos there is no door on the bathroom! Sadly they had also just changed the lock on the room door but no one bothered to check that it latched closed or locked, it did neither, so we spent over an hour after arriving and unpacking the car sitting and waiting in the room for that to be fixed before we could go explore, eventually resolved by grinding metal plates in the door frame and the smell of that kinda lingered all night, again because of there being no airflow whatsoever even with windows and room door open, so very far from a comfortable nights sleep. We eventually wedged a double bed across the room's door so we could open it a few centimetres to try to create a draft, not ideal as the door opens onto the main passageway in the house where people were walking up and down, maybe other rooms in the house are better. Disappointed that the pool is actually an old farm dam with no filtration so very murky with many animalcules, deep everywhere with very narrow steps getting in and out, and no way for kids or people shorter than 1.8 M to just stand and chill and cool off.
